We will start our trip on the Mediterranean coast. Malaga is the center of the “costa del sol” which means “sunny beach”. Because the sun is shining over this beautiful city more than 350 days a year. We will see a part of this famous beach, botanic gardens of the city, Castle of Gibralfaro, cathedral of the city, Plaza Constitución, Roman theater, Andalusian castle, Picasso Museum, History of Art and Archaeology Museum from outside in our panoramic tour. Then we will give free time in the city center for you to visit the exciting museums of the city or to explore remarkable boutiques for shopping or to taste famous tapas of the amazing Andalusian kitchen. At the end of our free time, we will head to the nice Andalusian village Frigiliana. We will see the traditional architecture of the village, nice white houses, paved streets. After that, we will continue to Granada for overnight.
After having breakfast we will drive to the lands of dreams: Al Andalus. Reaching Granada, Alhambra Palace, the “pearl” of the Al Andalus, will be waiting for us. After a guided tour here for around 3 hours, we will start to explore beautiful Granada. Albayzin old Muslim district, Moroccan bazaars, Calle Elvira, Plaza de Isabel de Catolica, Old Bedesten Corral de Carbon, Cathedral of Granada (from outside) will be some spots to visit. In our free time in the city center, you have a chance to try “tapas”, incredible traditional food of Andalusia. We will finish this day in our hotel in Granada with unforgettable memories of this city.
Today we will start our day with Alpujarras visit. This nice mountain village was also the last place of the Muslim resistance in medieval era. We will see the lands of the conflict, graves and the incredible nature of the mountain. Also we will visit the chocolate museum in Pampaneira and the water museum in Lanjaron. Finally we will see the marvelous views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. After our tour on the mountains we will return to Granada and visit the historical Muslim neighborhood Albaicin. And the last spot of the day will be an optional visit of the Gypsies’ neighborhood Sacramonte. We will watch the famous Gypsy dance Zambra Gitana in a historical cave.
Today we will start our visits in Cordoba with a walk on the streets of the old district, between old Andalusian houses, streets with flowers and fountains. Cordoba used to be the capital of Muslims for 500 years in the Medieval Period. It was known as the capital of scholars, capital of culture and the Andalusian caliphate. Ibn Rushd (Averroes), Maimonides and many others worked and lived in this amazing medieval capital. You can still feel this unique history on the streets of Cordoba. Also we will see the 2000 year-old Roman Bridge which remained from its Roman founders’ and the tower added by Muslims: Tower of Callahora and the marvelous mosque: Mesquita-Cathedral of Cordoba. After our visit in the city, we will continue to Seville for overnight.
The capital and the biggest city of the modern province of Andalusia: Seville will be our destination today. We will start our visit with the avenue of palm trees and see the “casas” of the countries of American continent, Plaza of America and will stop in the Plaza of España. Then we will continue our visit passing through the historical district “Santa Cruz” seeing old traditional houses of Seville, and its narrow streets and feeling the memories of the inquisitorial period. Upon reaching the Plaza de Triunfo (Victory Square) we will see the most famous monuments of Seville: The Cathedral of Seville, The Bell Tower: Hiralda, The Palace of Castilla Kings: Alcazar, the building of Indian Archives. After our visit here, we will have some free time and then return to our hotel. Also tonight we will have an optional flamenco show. Dance of the suffering and passion was born in Seville. If you want you can watch a remarkable flamenco show tonight in a historical tavern.
Today we are heading to the south, to the end of Europe. But before arriving there we will visit the “Romantic Capital” of Spain: Ronda. This town has become famous with Hemingway’s masterpiece: “For Whom the Bell Tolls”. The book tells us the dark days of Ronda during the Spanish Civil War. However, since the 18th century, this place has been one of the main haunts for travelers because of its natural beauty. Canyons, cliffs, its amazing bridge, oldest bullfight arena and its wonderful beauties like Italian Toscana. After our visit here we will continue to the Roman site Acinipo, near Ronda for a short but pleasant visit where we will see a wonderful Roman theater along with other ruins. Then we will continue to southern edge of Europe to Gibraltar to see the strait. Later we will head to Algeciras and check in our hotel.
After breakfast we will head to the British lands in Spain. First we will see a beach where the Tariq Bin Ziyad conquest started. Later we will pass the border and visit British land: Gibraltar. Once we have crossed the border, we will visit the main tourist attractions of Gibraltar. Through this you will get a real sense of one of the most southern parts of Europe. We will then travel to the nature reserve where we will make a stop at the legendary pillar of Hercules. We will get the opportunity to see the apes of Gibraltar: these are the only ones that roam freely in the European continent. After the tour along the top, we will have time to visit the Main Street which is renowned for its range of shops and second hand markets. It’s a great place to find some bargains. After enjoying some free time here we will return to Spain and continue to the famous beach side Marbella & Puerto Banus. We will see the beautiful sea side, high societies’ yachts, high quality shops and commercial centers. We will give some free time for shopping there and continue to Mijas. Mijas is a typical traditional Andalusian village with its white houses, small streets with flowers and small shops. After a pleasant visit in Mijas, we will reach to Malaga to finish our day in our hotel.
Depending on the flight time we will have some free time in the city then head to the airport for departure.
