We are meeting at the Marrakech airport and heading to our hotel in Marrakech for overnight.
We will have a tour in Marrakech today. We will visit the Palace of Marrakech from the 19th century with its Andalusian wooden ornaments and mosaics. After seeing the 800 year-old Hispano-Moresque Koutoubia Minaret of we will head to the “souk”, the marketplace of Marrakech, and walk through its small and narrow streets full shops for any kind of needs like clothiers, blacksmiths, leather tanneries, wood crafts, herbal shops selling healing herbs and creams made by traditional Berber recipes. After the souk we will see the Royal Cemetery where there are tombs of Saadien Dynasty and the Ben Youssef Madrasa and Museum. Then we will arrive the Jemaa el-Fnaa, the most active square of Africa Continent, which takes place in the UNESCO World Heritage List. “Meddahs”, snake charmers, tattooists, jugglers and acrobats… Such an open air theater in the middle of the city… Now it is time to head to Casablanca for overnight.
Today we are visiting Casablanca, the white city. We will see the United Nations Square, Boulevard Mohammed V, Habus Square and Hassan II Mosque. You have an option to enter this mosque in which 25,000 people can pray at the same time and outside, in the courtyard 80,000 people can gather. Its lazer lamp at the top of 200-metre high minaret notifies those at a distance up to 35 km who want to pray when the praying time comes.
This morning we are heading to the capital Rabat. Rabat was founded as a military base for the raids made from Africa continent to Andalusia and then was turned into a castle. In French Colonies period it became the capital. After a panoramic tour in the city, we will visit the Hasan II Tower, the tomb of Mohammed V and the square of Royal Palace. Then we are heading to Meknes. This city was built as a quarters and a palace by Moulay Ismail, one the legendary sultans of the history of Morocco. Here we will see the Mansour Gate, the tomb of Moulay Ismail and old city walls. Then we will head to Fez which used to be a science center of Andalusia. We will see the Borj Hill, Mellah Neighborhood which is a Jewish quarter, Andalusia quarter, Quarawiyyin Mosque and Madrasa, Nejjarin fountain and Attarine Madrasa. After visiting the old bazaar of Fez we will head to our hotel in Fez.
This morning we are heading to the Blue City, Chefchaouen. After a panoramic Medina tour here we will drive to Tangier. In this beautiful coast town we will have a chance to get to know Morocco with its mosques, khans, bazaars, narrow streets and houses and try famous couscous. Then we will head to our hotel in Tangier for overnight.
We are taking the ferry today to head to Tarifa, Spain, passing through the Strait of Gibraltar, just like Tariq Bin Ziyad did 1300 years ago. After visiting this small fishing town we will drive to Seville, the capital of Andalusia. Here first we will visit Maria Luisa Park and Plaza de Espana. In this city, which is a gate for the Spanish Empire to the colonies, it is possible to see the traces of the richness provided from those colonies, in every corner you look. Then we will see the Santa Marta Cathedral from outside. This building is the third biggest gothic cathedral in the world and it contains the tomb of Christophe Colomb. Just next to this cathedral we will see the Hiralda Minaret left from Andalusian Umayyad State. Then we will pass through Torre del Oro, Golden Tower, which is a marin museum today, and have an optional boat tour on the Guadalquivir River. Our last stop will be the “Gibsy Neighbourhood”. After some free time for dinner we have an option to join a spectacular Flamenco show. Overnight in Seville.
This morning we are heading to Cordoba after breakfast. This city used to be the capital of the region during Roman Empire. We will pass through the Roman bridge which was built on the Guadalquivir River and enter the city from a Roman gate. We will visit the 2000 year-old Mezquita-Cathedral, one of the biggest mosques in the world, standing on 850 columns. We will walk through old Cordoba streets all decorated with flowers and beautiful courtyards with fountains. After having some free time in the city we will start driving to Granada for overnight.
After having breakfast we will visit Alhambra Palace, the “pearl” of Al Andalus today. After a guided tour here for around 3 hours, we will start to explore beautiful Granada. Albayzin old Muslim district, Moroccan bazaars, Calle Elvira, Plaza de Isabel de Catolica, Old Bedesten Corral de Carbon, Cathedral of Granada (from outside) will be some spots to visit. In our free time in the city center, you have a chance to try “tapas”, incredible traditional food of Andalusia. We will finish this day in our hotel in Granada.
This morning we will head to the Mediterranean coast, to Malaga, the center of the “costa del sol” which means “sunny beach”. Because the sun is shining over this beautiful city more than 350 days a year. We will see a part of this famous beach, botanic gardens of the city, Castle of Gibralfaro, cathedral of the city, Plaza Constitución, Roman theater, Andalusian castle, Picasso Museum, History of Art and Archaeology Museum from outside in our panoramic tour. Then we will give free time in the city center for you to visit the museums of the city, to explore remarkable boutiques for shopping and to taste famous tapas of the amazing Andalusian kitchen. After having some free time here will head to Malaga airport for departure.
