This morning we are checking out from our hotel in Malaga and driving to the capital of Andalusia: Seville. After around 2 hours ride we will arrive in Seville and begin to discover the city, which is built on both sides of the Guadalquivir river. Famous for its historical richness and monuments, such as the Cathedral, Reales Alcazares, Torre del Oro, Plaza España, its dance culture flamenco, its terraces, its beautiful Giralda… We will walk through its streets, as the great thinker Averroes, Cristobal Colon, Americo Vespucio and Esteban Murillo did. We will dedicate our day to exploring the best of the capital and today we will spend the night in Seville. Tonight you have an option to attend a Flamenco show.
Today we are leaving Seville and heading to Jerez: one of the most beautiful places in southern Spain. We will have a walking tour here. We will pass through its narrow streets, see the Renaissance Cathedral, Alcazar de Jerez and Plaza del Arenal. Then we will visit a cellar where you will have a chance to try “manzanillas”, a typical traditional wine in the region. After this unique experience we will drive to the town called “Arcos de la Frontera” which takes place in Cadiz province. We will see the Guadalete and Majaceite rivers, we will pass through the old town, see the medieval Andalusi castle, Minor Basilica of Santa Maria de la Asuncion, Church of San Pedro and San Miguel, Mudejar style Town Hall. We will also see the houses of some significant people on the Tenorio Street like the Don Bosco House or the Plaza de María Auxiliadora. While we walk through the old town of Ronda, we will admire the vestiges that Celts, Phoenicians, Romans and Arabs left in the city. We will evoke past times by visiting the Mondragón Palace, one of the most visited buildings in Ronda, which also houses the Municipal Museum. Our steps will take us to the Plaza de la Duquesa de Parcent, famous for hosting four different churches: Santa María de la Encarnación, Santa Isabel de los Ángeles, La Caridad and María Auxiliadora. On this route we will also go to the Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Ronda. Besides being the oldest in Spain, it is considered to be the birthplace of traditional bullfighting.
